Goalpara College Students Union (GCSU)

Goalpara College Students’ Union (GCSU) is an elected student’s representative body for each academic session. Election is conducted in each session to elect the representative against each portfolio following the recommendations of Lyngdoh Committee (2006). Regular and fulltime college students with no criminal record are permitted to take part in the process of election. UG students having class attendance of 75% or above and between the age group of 17 and 22 are eligible to contest in the election.

GCSU has been activelyengagedin general welfare of the students in scholastic as well as co-scholastic fields.The major activities of the Students’ Union are organizing College Week, Freshmen social, Saraswati puja, publishing annual college magazine, wall magazine, selection of students for participation in the inter-college events etc. The students’ union assist the students during the time of admission, examination form fill up etc. They are also involved in community extension activitiesand awareness programmes conducted by the college.The union promotes better relation between all the stakeholders through a framework of friendship and service.
