Profile

Department of History is one of the oldest Departments set up since the establishment of the College in the Year 1955 with Major Course . The main objective of the Department is to impart a culture of historical enquiry into the past. Motivate and encourage students through the subject in the lines of their professional interests. It also focus in conducting the study on the history and culture and western Assam i.e. erstwhile Goalpara. The strength of the Department is the success of students.
